Fercas self-lubricated iron bearings are manufactured from powder sintered iron. After sintering, they are immersed in a hot oil bath, incorporating this into the inner porous structure of the bearing. The standard oil with which they are impregnated The bearings are of mineral origin and comply with ISO 100 designations, with a temperature of maximum operation of 100 ºC and a viscosity at 50 ºC of 5.7-8.3 ºE.
On the other hand, special additives are added to increase its resistance to corrosion during its storage and operation.
The corrosion resistance of Fercas bearings comes determined in turn by the corrosion resistance of the materials that compose it. It is not suitable for work in the presence of humidity or corrosive media.
The temperature limits for use range from -20 ºC to 100 ºC. They can be modified by injecting an oil different from that usually used and even adding additives such as molybdenum disulfide (B2Mo) under special manufacturing.
